I would like to ask you about the feasibility of something a bit different: a large baritone ukulele with roughly the dimensions of a 3/4 size classical guitar and an approximately 23 inch scale with 14 frets to the body.
Background: classical guitar is my main instrument which I have played for many years. I also play the ukulele, but have been disappointed by the tone and quality of some of the factory-built ukes available in the UK. I know the best ukes are capable of a very sweet and mellow sound reminiscent of the renaissance guitar. I’ve been looking for a classical guitar maker who also specialises in ukuleles and came across your site.
I envisage an high spec instrument with an ebony fretboard, possibly radiused, a high quality spruce top and slotted guitar-type headstock.
I would be very interested in your comments! Does this sound like a feasible project to you?
If so, a rough price estimate would be useful, please.
Nice Guitars!
